We understand you may feel anxious or nervous about your upcoming procedure. Our compassionate staff will respectfully answer all of your questions so you understand what to expect while you are in our care.

When you are scheduled for a procedure, you must review the following document before the date of surgery: MVSC Patient Rights, Advance Directives and Ownership Notification.

Registering prior to your procedure prepares our staff for your arrival on surgery day. Please register as soon as your surgery is scheduled.  During this registration period you will talk to our business office personnel who will gather your demographic and insurance information. You will also talk with a nurse who will take your health history. 

We may request that you have lab work or other tests performed prior to surgery. For your convenience, Mississippi Valley Laboratory, adjacent to the Surgery Center, is available. Please check with your insurance to verify that this and other healthcare providers related to your surgery are in your network.

We encourage patients to come to the surgery center to pre-register Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. This office is located in Building 1 on the main level. If you are unable to preregister in person, you may call our facility at (563) 344-6600, Monday-Friday
8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.  

If you do not preregister, your surgery may be delayed or cancelled.

In order for us to bill your insurance, please bring the following information with you to preregister or be prepared to provide this information over the phone. 

If you preregister over the phone, bring this information with you the day of your surgery or procedure:

• Any paperwork from your doctor
• Insurance cards for primary and secondary insurances
• Applicable home addresses, home, work and cell phone numbers
• Social Security number and date of birth of the patient AND insurance holder
• A list of medications that you are currently taking (be sure to include the dose and directions of each medication).
• Guardians: If the patient is a child under the age of 18, and a parent will NOT be present for the surgery, legal guardian documentation must be provided
• If applicable, Worker Compensation information and contact person
