Your surgeon will talk with you and/or your
caregiver following your procedure. Recovery time varies by the
procedure performed and the type of anesthesia given. Parents are
allowed to see their child soon after the procedure is completed.
When you are ready to be discharged from the Surgery Center, you
and/or your caregiver will meet with staff and receive instructions
for returning home including: any new medications you will be taking,
warning signs for which to call your doctor, your follow-up care,
any limitations of activities or any special equipment needs. Your
caregiver must drive you home and should plan to stay with you
for 24 hours.
The next business day, you will receive a call from the Surgery Center to check
on your progress or answer any questions about your recovery. If you have immediate
concerns, please contact your surgeon.
